Do yellow chicks usually end up white? Or do some lighter colored breeds of chickens simply have yellow chicks? I bought straight run bantams from TSC and got 10 yellowish ones and 2 that are mixed, dark colors and I'm not crazy about ending up with all white chickens because i really enjoy the color and variety. I've never bought chicks before, only ones that are feathered at 2 months.

I got 2 yellow chicks a couple of weeks ago and their wings are coming in black and white....
so I would say they won't necessarily be white.

White and on occasion, chestnut red as in the case of a New Hampshire. Delawares are yellow as chicks, as are Leghorns.

Hmm, well that's nice to know. I really like variety in my chickens so I can tell who is who among the flock!

Thanks! Well, turns out I have silkies, so I've got a lock on what color they will most likely be, thanks all!
