I posted this on the Ducks Forum, too, but don't know if anybody but me reads both.

My son asked how much a dressed goose costs, so I looked on-line.

Holy guacamole, Batman. $175 plus $11.99 for shipping. That's some center piece for the Christmas Buffet. I am really going to enjoy that roast goose this year. I'll be chewing slowly to be sure to get every drop of flavor out of it.

That's for a 10-12 pound bird, which is probably going to be a fairly common dressed weight.

It looks like the going rate for dressed waterfowl is approximately $17 a pound for geese and $15 a pound for ducks. Did I mention, I will be raising my prices for birds?

I saw some at Wal-Mart last season, I believe they were $14 a pound. Wish they'd sell for that LIVE! I'm lucky to get $14 per bird.
