young chicken died suddenly

Are lovely speckley hen passed away suddenly, why we dont know, she was quiet yesterday but today went down hill fast, she stopped eating and drinking, no signs of straining, possibly diarrhoea but hard to tell as all 8 are free rangers, she dropped her tail and looked very sad with her head down, she was so lovely and has left us very sad. I hope its nothing we did or did not do. My daughter is devastated as she sat on her lap all the time.

Im pleased to say that the remaining 7 chicks are doing well, and we have 3 new arrivals ( pekin bantams) in iscolation at the moment but very cute and they have helped Amelia cope with the loss of speckled hen, although she has her picture in bed and says goodnight and goodmorning which is a heart breaker. The picture is Amelia and speckled hen (RIP).
