Yesterday my two chicks were 2 weeks old, and the one that I know is male made the craziest noise when I picked up his sister.

It wasn't a typical chirp...it was not like that at all.

Today I picked up the girl again and she chirped loudly, like an alarm, and he started making that frantic...well...crowing noise.

Has anyone else has a baby try to start crowing at a really early age?

It's still winter here, so I'm living with these babies in a brooder in my room for a few more weeks. Imagine, a crowing rooster at the foot of my bed for the next month.....my husband is going to KILL me![IMG]

I've been trying to capture this noise again on video so I can share it with you guys, but it's like he knows I'm trying to get him to perform and he's being defiant. I'll keep trying, and let you know if I get it on video.

That's always the way, everything is when they want it and now when you want it. [IMG]

It would be cute to see a 2-week-old cockerel try to crow. If he is trying to crow already, you better keep your eye on him. [IMG]
