Young hens seeing eggs for the first time

I was getting my two year old hens egg two of my younger hens wanted to check it out, they haven’t started laying yet, garlic, the white one, just sat there inspecting it for five minutes straight barely moving her head, and Cayenne was observing from a distance, she was scared of it until she tried sitting on it a little later.

I ran across these photos a few days ago of our Silkie pullet just seconds after she'd laid her first egg. You can see total confusion on her face!
