Young rooster

    I have 13 15 to 16 week old hens and a rooster the same age to day he was trying to do what roosters do and mount a hen new to the chicken thing is this ok at this age or do I need to do somthing? [​IMG] please help Let me be more clear are they to young for this? or is it ok?

    You want to help your rooster do what?! I think there are laws against that sort of thing. [​IMG]

    Agreed...just collect your eggs daily, keep them room temp or cooler and eat them up. Voila! No extra chicks. [​IMG]

    I guess I wasnt clear in my question. My question is they are all 15 to 16 weeks are they to young for the roo to have his way with them? [​IMG]

    Nope, no problem. Young roos will usually start trying their luck pretty early. [​IMG]

    One of my 12wo boys tried it on with one of my bossy layers and got a severe dressing down. [​IMG]
