Young rooster?

I just read something that made me question possibilities. Is it possible to tell the sex of chicken at a month old from the development of the comb? I have on of my 6 that at a month old has a comb that is extended so much further from the head than the other five. Could it be it's going be like daddy?

If you post photos on the "What Breed/Gender" board, you're sure to get some experienced feedback on whether the degree of difference is meaningful.

My significant other or better half sexes chickens very young by the size and color of the comb. She seems pretty accurate at doing it.

It's very possible. I've done it for years. It takes a practiced eye on many breeds and some breeds are nearly impossible, but often it works quite accurately.......Pop
