I bought several straight run gold sex linked chickens from Meyer hatchery in April. I had no idea how to tell them apart, and its ok. Anyway, I was sure this guy was a rooster. Had a nice comb, carried himself like a rooster. Today I found out he's doing it wrong. He layed an egg. I told him that that is not something a respectable rooster does. I don't think he listened to me, though. At least I don't have to worry about fighting with the new rooster I got.[IMG]

Well, how embarrassing for him [IMG] I wonder if he tried to bury it in the hay and then slink away into the shadows, blaming it on someone else!

Oh well, there you go. Congrats on your new laying hen!
