What is that #1 piece of advice you'd throw out there for newbies?

Build a nice coop and run. Safe from loss.

Don't buy chicks just because they're cute and fuzzy now.

No matter how hard you try there will be losses in your flock.

Don't spread diseases! Nobody wants chicken STDs.... Antibiotics are scarce! LoL

Don't let them on your new couch.

I'm serious about that. Dumb as it sounds. Chickens will poop
on the furniture. Don't ask me how I know this, just take my
word for it.

Those beautiful little baby chicks will learn to hop. Then they learn
to fly. And your little house dog just loves them to play with.
