Your opinion...What is the best bedding?

What do you guys think is the best bedding for chickens? I have feather legged and non feather legged bantams.

Me too! Since I put in a poop board, my pine shavings last amazingly long.

What is a poop board?

I have always used straw but now that we want to take better care of these new birds, I thought I would ask opinions.

Also do you use the same for the nesting box?

I use shavings for the coop bedding and straw for the nests. I don't have a poop board, but I use a kitty litter scoop and it's very easy to clean it up. Scoop and shake! Takes me 5 minutes and I do it daily. I only need to refill maybe once a month. I will replace all of it about every 6-8 weeks anyway just because I like a clean coop!

I do a combo of barley straw and pine shavings, and then throw in dried grass clippings and shredded dried leaves as they become available.
