    2/5 sized gravel for ducks?

Hello! I’m thinking of getting River rocks to cover the gross mess in my ducks run. I’ve seen people use the small Pea Gravel, but it seems to get smooshed around when it gets wet I was wondering if 2/5 inch river rocks would work well? Would it hurt their feet?

    Accidentally got a Cedar Coop

Tysm! I’ll give that a shot I think. If I can seal away as much of the fumes as I can I think it’ll lower any risk of hurting my duckies. To answer @rosemarythyme s question about ventilation, I do have the doors open at all times during the day, and it has two small mesh windows just under the roof

    Accidentally got a Cedar Coop

No they just mentioned that the wood gave off an intense cedar smell. Mine didn’t, but I can tell that it’s cedar when I smell it directly. The seller’s description for the coop even said that the type is just “wood”, nothing else 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

    Accidentally got a Cedar Coop

Hello! I have a coop I bought off Amazon. Unfortunately, I recently learned that it’s wood is cedar from the reviews, something that I know that is toxic to birds. It doesn’t emit a very strong or noticeable odor when I’m collecting eggs, but when I smell the wood directly it’s definitely...

    Beginner Broody or no?

Ok cool, thank you! I wasn’t too sure about the egg laying either bc I haven’t seen any change in the production, they should start laying between June and July

    Beginner Broody or no?

There is one nest in their coop, but I’m not sure who made it. I have 6 girls right now, and they all go in the coop on their own at night so I can lock them up. I’m wondering, if she is laying eggs, if she’s stressed from me taking the morning eggs? Maybe I should put in a couple fake ones in...

    Beginner Broody or no?

If she is molting, is there anything I can use to help her out? Or will it just run it’s course?

    Beginner Broody or no?

I have a mallard, Flash, that’s 11 weeks old. Her breast feathers are all patchy, and I can see feathers strewn around the run and sometimes in the pool. When I clean out their water she’s always getting all fluffed up and splashing all over the place (her sisters don’t really do that). When she...

    Insulating a Coop

Haha no kidding Maybe if I attach the tarp to the mesh pieces, but left a gap on each one, it would keep the cold wind out, but let just enough in to air out the coop so they can breath. I’ll also add another version of this and attach it to the other run when I get more ducks

    Insulating a Coop

Sweet ok, that’s good to know. I knew they were weather hardy but not that hardy 😂 would it be smart if I put a simple tarp against the mesh of the runs to keep the wind out? It gets pretty windy where I live

    Insulating a Coop

I live in southern Oklahoma, so the weather doesn't get too bad, but it can get below freezing some nights. I’m only going to lock them in the coop at night, so they’ll have enough room outside during the day.

    Insulating a Coop

Hello everyone! I currently built a coop that I bought off of Amazon and it comes with a run. The coop is for my ducks, and I’m planning to get more. However, inside the coop itself is not big enough for 10 ducks, so I want to insulate the attached run, and get one more to attach and insulate as...

    Runner ducks

I want to get four female ducklings: a fawn/white runner, a magpie, a Cayuga, and a white egg layer. Unfortunately, the runner stands differently than most ducks do. Would the other ducks bully her for that difference or would they not mind? Or does it depend on the temperament? This brings up...

    Two flocks, how many coops?

Hi everyone! I’m new here and I need to know what I should do for my ducks. I’m going to have two duck flocks soon, and I don’t know if I should have one or two coops. I will have ten ducks by the end of the year: one male for every 4 females. They’ll all be raised together as ducklings so I’m...
