Stage II Brooder

Love that little perch. Very neat design!

what is the dimensions of the the brooder?

I like this idea. Is there any reason why one couldn't put day old chicks in there? Why do you brood them somewhere else for the first two weeks?

The only thing id be concerned with is if the chicks go into the run area and cant figure out how to get back. ( ive seen some stupid chicks) . But givin there hasent been much talk on here im sure they did fine. Its a Verry nice set up

Great design. I love the size and how much you've done with so little material. I wonder if there's a way to stop drafts through that door like a 10" lip with a ramp on the inside as well. No one has talked about wrapping the chicken wire like that to stop predators. Great idea. I've also heard a good bit about predators getting chick through that chicken wire, have you had any of that? Why did you build the floor of the coop off the ground so far?

Like the idea you got going on here with the ability to let them get out. This concept you could possibly put this in your main coop and have the chicks in there so they are around the other chickens yet are protected. I'd go with a small size wire if they are outside and no other type protection.
