Vent Prolapse/Gleet/What else could it be?

So back in May I realized my 11-1/2 month old Legbar had an issue with her vent. Appeared to be gleet. I did yogurt, molasses, garlic in the water. After some time her eggs began to come out very bloody. This continued until she went broody of course, however as bloody as they were she would daily until she stopped laying. At the moment I had seen the first bloody egg, I decided to give her an epsom salt bath for her lower half, in doing so I noticed her vent looked funky not to mention she had pulled all of her vent feathers out! Looked like a prolapse, I grabbed the hemorrhoid cream and followed some easy online directions and applied some vetecyclin as well. She continued to lay daily only with less blood. She then went broody shortly afterward. So I got some fertile eggs, let her sit, hatch them and she is happily raising her four week old chicks at the moment. When she is scratching I still see this bulge coming out of her vent. It doesn't look pretty! However she is just now finally growing in some fluff on her backside but still has this bulge out of her vent. Did I do an adequate diagnosis on this bulge? And if yes or no, what can I expect next or what should be expected of me, once the chicks are ready to be on their own? I at times thought it could be lice but I literally clean the coop twice daily, use DE and place fresh burnt wood ash in the bathing areas once a week..

The discharge looks like vent gleet.
@Sally Sunshine has a good article (linked below) on treating gleet. You may want to check that out.
Molasses may make it worse, since it has a laxative affect on chickens.
For the external vent, you can apply some anti-fungal cream (athlete's foot cream).

Try Sally's remedy, if not you may need to get some Nystatin prescribed to help get the yeast/thrush under control. Tilly's Nest is also informative.

Well the vent gleet I did treat back in June. She no longer has that issue however she does still have only the bulge in her vent.

OK. I misunderstood - was looking at that first photo too

The bulge could have been a partial prolapse. There's not a lot that you can do but keep an eye on her. You can apply hemorrhoid cream like you have been.

The bulge may get larger as she gets older, but as long as she is eating/drinking and seems to be getting along fine, then I would leave her be.

Just my thoughts.

Will do! And thank you!
