Chirping
So back in May I realized my 11-1/2 month old Legbar had an issue with her vent. Appeared to be gleet. I did yogurt, molasses, garlic in the water. After some time her eggs began to come out very bloody. This continued until she went broody of course, however as bloody as they were she would daily until she stopped laying. At the moment I had seen the first bloody egg, I decided to give her an epsom salt bath for her lower half, in doing so I noticed her vent looked funky not to mention she had pulled all of her vent feathers out! Looked like a prolapse, I grabbed the hemorrhoid cream and followed some easy online directions and applied some vetecyclin as well. She continued to lay daily only with less blood. She then went broody shortly afterward. So I got some fertile eggs, let her sit, hatch them and she is happily raising her four week old chicks at the moment. When she is scratching I still see this bulge coming out of her vent. It doesn't look pretty! However she is just now finally growing in some fluff on her backside but still has this bulge out of her vent. Did I do an adequate diagnosis on this bulge? And if yes or no, what can I expect next or what should be expected of me, once the chicks are ready to be on their own? I at times thought it could be lice but I literally clean the coop twice daily, use DE and place fresh burnt wood ash in the bathing areas once a week..
