Hello, everyone! On March 29, we set 11 eggs from our mixed flock under a broody hen. With the due date for the chicks sometime between the 17th and 18th of April (today/tomorrow!), and an idea for a genetic "scavenger hunt" at school (we are on the genetics unit right now), I have a few questions for the users with a knowledge of genetics here at BYC.

Info about our flock:

Rooster:
Milky - white silkie, walnut comb, has beard/muffs, five toes, feathered legs

Hens:
Nutty - an Easter Egger, pea comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs
Crystal - an Easter Egger, pea comb, has beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs

Bullet - a Barred Rock, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs
Gravel - a Barred Rock, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs

Moon - a Black Australorp, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs
Shimmer - a Black Australorp, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs

Rose - a Black Star/Black Sex Link, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs
Lava - a Black Star/Black Sex Link, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs
Tiny - a Black Star/Black Sex Link, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs

Rarity - a Cuckoo Maran, single comb, no beard/muffs, four toes, no feathered legs (the broody hen!)

I understand that Black Stars and the EEs do not breed true.

What is a "general" list of outcomes for each chick from each hen/breed including skin color, shank color, comb shape, feather color and pattern, egg color, etc?

Hi
You need to contact either Eggheadjr or nicalandia ( Marvin) on BYC. both of them are excellent with plumage genetics and color genetics.
Best ,
Karen
