We just picked up this little one. We have been duck people and thought we would add more chickens since one of our two bantams was taken by a hawk this winter.

She is a bantam breed. She is gold, black, gray, and tan. She has feathered feet. Her legs are off white, faint yellow. Her beak has a black stripe near her nostrils across her beak.

What breed do you think she is?

Oh my goodness! I have never heard of that breed. Do you know if they are APA recognized?

Thanks!

The body shape is wrong for a cochin. Looks like it has puffy little cheeks, which when feathered out will be the beard/muffs like around the above hen's beak.

Also, the color is most definitely Mille fleur, which is not an apa accepted variety in Cochins and hatcheries wouldn't carry them

Thanks! I think that breed looks cool, but my daughter who bought it does not like the way they look. She was hoping to replace her cochin which was taken by a hawk.
Do you know if that breed is winter hardy? Or do you know where I can find info on them?

Thanks again.
