Humidity problems

This is my first time incubating eggs and I am having problems with getting the right humidity. have researched about how to get the humidity up and i still cant get it past 40%. Can someone please share their ways of getting the humidity higher and when it has to be at what percentage I would be so grateful!

Have you checked the problem is the humidity and not what reading your hygrometer is telling you is the humidity?

My borrowed incubator was quite badly un calibrated when I checked.

Oh and look up dry incubation. May be a better solution if you are going to be restricted by how high you can get it. Though I'm pretty sure 45% is all you need for regular incubating so you are pretty close.

I downloaded a hatching calendar for the kids to mark off and it says
Day 1-17 temp 99-101 humidity 45%
Day 18 onwards increase humidity to 60-65%
