I plan to slaughter and process one of my turkeys this week before thanksgiving. My issue is that I am traveling with the bird iced down. I plan to slaughter this Wednesday or Thursday wrap and keep cold until next Thursday. Would the meat still be good if kept cold for 6-7 days?? Any advice would be appreciated thanks!
 
If you freeze it first, and then ice it to travel, i will most likely be fine surrounded in ice...if possible, freeze it for as long as you can, so that it can thaw slowly will traveling.
