cocci meds or not

my northern bobwhites are due to hatch (52 eggs) in 2 days. should i give some sort of cocci meds or anything else at the beginning? also does anybody use the dacb paper from gqf? my brooder came with 1 sheet . thanks for your comments.

You can use medicated feed if you wish, or not. I don't use medicated feed. (amprolium to help prevent cocci). Bobwhites are highly susceptible to cocci however, so keep your brooder spotless and dry if you don't use medicated feed. I always raise my chicks on wire. Poop falls through to the bottom, they come into contact with just enough poop to grow immunity, but not enough of it to become overwhelmed and get sick.

thanks for your reply two crows, i have a gqf brooder with paper in the floor till they are big enough to walk on the wire.my feed has, is it bmd or something like that for something i got it from the tn montgomrys farmers co-op #194
