Eggs soon??? advice please!

Ok I have a male and a female Pekin duck. Lately I have noticed the male mating with the female and although I know mating is not required to produce an egg.... my thought is that if they are mating, then they are sexually mature, and she should be laying soon?? But I'm not sure? I got then from tractor supply in February. Any comments, and/or info is appreciated!! Thanks!!
