A hot topic these days.

The word "socialist" has been tossed around like a rag doll over the past few months. So much so that it reminds me of McCarthy's commie rhetoric from the 50's. Talking about things lead to understanding, so let's talk about it.

It could be argued that by simply paying taxes, every citizen of the United States is a socialist.

What say you?

Im not touching this with a 10ft pole.

A mod might as well come and close this down right now. It's political and against BYC policy.

and besides, I'm not allowed to comment. Even though you ALL know I'd love to.

Does the 1st amendment not apply to this website?

This is the forum for off topic discussion isn't it?

Is everyone comfortable with topics "disappearing" all the time?

What country is this anyway?

I rather enjoy NOT getting political on here, because no matter how well intentioned it starts someone always gets mad. Its just that we all have different opinions, and I for one am fine with that.

This particular place is the Realm of Nifty and Terri.

Read the rules.

If you want to talk chickens, do so.

If you want to talk politics, go somewhere else. It's that easy.
