This album is getting an update! We were using what amounted to a 3 box system that amounted to just moving up to bigger boxes as they grew. It worked, gave me extra space for different ages and sick or hurt birds. But it was a hassle. So, I built my own brooder to take the place of 2 of the three. I kept, and will still use the "Bitty Box" which is for newly hatched to one week. At one week old, if everyone that is growing and advancing as they should move up and out to the brooder. If I have any runt chicks, chicks that seem to lag behind the others, or just weak and a bit behind the rest I will normally leave those in for a few more days to an extra week. And then it's off to the brooder. I'm over-joyed that I took the time to build one to look and function the way I wanted it.
