How do your Silkies like the cold weather? I have a bantam Sebright and she doesn't seem to be doing to well. Are your Silkies in heated place or do they rough it? Just need some input. I'm thiking about bringing my girl inside.
Hi @sssharon My silkies are doing ok in this freezing temps. Being broody and all. They will even venture out a little on the snow usually first, but not for long!
The silkies are roughing it. No heat in the coop other that 22 other hens, a 40 watt cookie tin heater and 18 watt pipe cable heater for the water bucket. I have a large window open and a smaller one with a fan blowing out to help eliminate humidity. They seem good so far!
