My chickens devoured my Hosta garden to the Nubs!! Didn't eat any of the Astilbe . Very strange.

Wow, that is some strong opinions on the mice. We live on 10 acres of woods. It makes sense to keep the mouse population low in my coop, but for every family I kill another is going to come in looking for the warmth and food in the coop. Its harsh on the outside. I'm not sure I can keep up.

My coop is actually a garden shed built by my family, so not perfect. I saw the little mouse today when I opened the door, running into a hole. The only food they can get at is the spill from the chickens. No harm if there are not too many?

Hello everyone, I have enjoyed reading this post and seeing the pics. It has made me a little sad because I bought my first turkdy this year and was going to eat her. However she has lumps on the sides of her face, one larger than the other, so I think we can't eat her. :(

Do the diapers come with directions for how to get them on your chicken ??

I live near Ann Arbor in Michigan. I would love to have a couple of Seramas. Can they live in a Standard size flock? Or do they need to be only with other small chickens?

Thanks for your reply. I figured it was because ther might be antibiotic in the eggs and I'm not allergic so I think I will eat them. The chickens just had a little respotory wheezing, that's why I gave them the antibiotics. I will stop the medicine tomorrow and i will wait another 2 weeks...

Hi, my hens have been drinking oxytetracycline HCI in their water for 2 weeks now. The package says not to give it to hens who lay eggs for human consumption. I haven't been eating any of their eggs, but I wonder if the eggs would do me any harm. Anybody have any ideas?

Thank you all for your help. I'm sure I cannot handle injecting a turkey. I think I'll take the advice to wait untill Christmas to eat her. Sounds so harsh!. I don't think a sinus infection would make the muscle meat inedible. Do you? I should isolate her and increase her dose in the water but...
