    Spring 2017 first timers post!

Meant to get some pictures up earlier, but these are cuter anyway. Two of the freebie boys got to try going outdoors. When they agreed with me that it was warm enough, I let some of the girls go out for a couple minutes. :) You could definitely tell they were a little overwhelmed by all...

    Spring 2017 first timers post!

I currently have 14 hens in my flock. :) Not including my one guinea hen. No problem! She's a blue Ameraucana who I got from Fayetteville Poultry in Fayetteville, NC. I'm not sure if they ship though. Wow, what a pretty blue that would be! I'm getting a Cream Legbar next month...

An Ameraucana currently! I also have an Easter Egger who lays blue eggs, but the Ameraucana's are bluer.

    Spring 2017 first timers post!

I can't believe how much my little chicks have grown in a week! Everyone is feathering out really nicely and already working on their super jumps. (So glad I have a screen top. I was away for all of a minute to clean out their water and came back to find Lessa looking in at the other chicks...

Unfortunately, Pan passed away last night. :( Everyone else is doing well though. She was just weak on arrival and never perked up, even with warmth, food, and water.

That's exciting! I can't wait for your pictures. What do you think of your ducks? I'd love to add on some cayuga to my growing flock.

    Spring 2017 first timers post!

Now that my babies have had time to settle in, I can start playing with them! In short sessions, of course. Today I went ahead and got some pictures of my new munchkins to name them. Hope you like pictures! Becky (Named after the loon in Finding Dory.) Chirp (She talks a lot...

    Spring 2017 first timers post!

They arrived at 6am this morning! One chick - I think the cubalaya - seems a bit puny, but hopefully, she'll make it. Ideal included 6 large male chicks for heat, and I think they are cochins due to their size and feathered feetsies. We're going to let them grow out a little bit, I think...

    Need Help Identifying My Rooster

She couldn't give me any information on him. :( I know as much as you at this point. Edit: Well, she did say she got some all black babies from him that grew up to be iridescent black birds. Not sure if that helps?

    Need Help Identifying My Rooster

I got Deacon for free from one of my mom's coworkers, and the lady had no idea what he was. Any help would be appreciated, and let me know if you need better pictures! Thanks!

Hi! I'm currently waiting on my first mail order to get here! Should hopefully be sometime tomorrow or Friday. I got the notification they had been shipped last night, so now the wait is going to kill me because I know my babies are on the road!

    The Aerie Chicken Project

I was a Zoology major. I kind of wish now I had done Poultry Science though! Or at least minored in it. Your idea sounds beautiful, and I really hope it's doable too! I'd love to see the results of your work. What got you interested in that color pattern? Good luck, and posts lots of...
