I'm in the UK, so we're suppose to be going into summer now but our winter was so mild this year that all the hens just carried on laying throughout.

Can't seem to find a reason why one hen has stopped laying!?

I got another soft shelled egg today found in the bedding but yesterday i got an actual egg from her! We put out the layers pellets in the morning before i let them out the coop, the pellets are out for them all day so they're not rationed with their feed. If she's molting surely she'd be...

Can't seem to find a reason why one hen has stopped laying!?

The feed is Heygates Country layers pellets with 16% protein and 5% fibre. Some days i do forget about the corn in the evenings so the layers pellets is all she'll eat throughout the day, apart from grass etc from free-ranging. I'll give them plain water too for a bit and see.

    Sexing Partridge Wyandotte Chicks

I read that if they've got 'eyeliner' it's a pullet and if not, it's a rooster. Which would be the case looking at your pictures too.

Can't seem to find a reason why one hen has stopped laying!?

I have an 18 month old speckledy hen (Rhode Island Red crossed with a Maran). I've had pretty much an egg a day from her since she started laying as a pullet. About 2 months ago she's stopped laying. A couple of times after she first stopped laying i remember looking into the coop at night to...

    Chick pooping blood

I couldn't find any shops locally that sold coccidiosis treatments so i've ended up going to my local farm vets. They were super helpful and looked at my chick, looked at a poo sample under the microscope and then gave me 4 syringes with the measurements of the treatment that i needed. Have been...

    Chick pooping blood

The vaccinated 3 have been vaccined against Mareks, Infectious Bronchitus, Newcastles and Common Mircoplasma. Then i've been giving them all medicated feed too. From what i can see it's only the 1 chick pooping blood, i put it by itself last night and had it on kitchen paper so i could have a...

What Does It Look Like Happened To You All?

Someone i know had something that looked very similar, turned out that the rooster had decided to corner the hen and pecked her head silly. She is a pure white hen but by the end of it her whole head and down her neck was red with blood. Needless to say the rooster wasn't around too much longer...

    6 week old bantam sneezing

I bought 3 two week old chicks from a breeder a couple of weeks ago and all 3 of them were sneezing, shaking their heads etc. It turned out it was from where they'd had their vaccinations and had 'colds' as a side effect. They've all got over it since and are now fine.

    Chick pooping blood

I wonder if anyone has any ideas to help me...I have 8 chicks; 5 that i've hatched, 3 that i've bought. The 3 that i'd bought had all been vaccinated and once i'd got them home and into the brooder with the others, i noticed that they were all sneezing. The sneezing then spread onto my own that...
