My neighbor free ranges her older chicken and the 14 young ones stay in a pen area, but she leaves gate open . She was gone one day last week and when she got home all of the young ones were gone, no trace of them anywhere. No feather no blood nothing. Yesterday she had a young rooster missing...
Wow nice, I see lots of babies getting use to the outdoors and next to the big girls in this. I like that it has wheels to move them around. Mite resistant is diffently a plus . All the features are a big plus.
Hello all, one of my hens has a tiny cut on her comb, she bleed terrible. When I cleaned it up could barely see it, put Neosporin on and separated them. My question is how long do I need to keep them separate ? My other hen and rooster is going crazy cause she in cage. Thanks for your help
I have 2 roosters, same age a little over 4 months. They have gotten along till today. One is now in high testosterone mode, now the other is stand backish and not wanting to be near the other. He walks slowly and looks a little depressed around Mr testosterone. Is this a normal thing ?
Thanks...
I already threw it out. But I will tell you I was fermenting crumble grower feed. I'm thinking I had more feed in the jar than water which caused all the feed to come to the top. Kinda looked like paste. I have fermented many times and hadn't seen this before. I didn't want to take a chance
Never had this happen before . So I'm asking is it still ok to feed?
I smelled it couldn't tell cause I think it smells funky anyway. This way only day 2 of fermentation.
Thank for any help
Thank you for taking the time to reply. You solved the feather question I was having, I kinda thought after they lost their baby fuzz that they wouldn't lose any till time to molt. But that has really pretty much stopped now. I'm watching to make sure she gets her fair share of food and treats...
Thanks for your reply. I have been picking up the feather this morning but guess I missed one. They have a large feeder, but will add another. When I give treats I try very hard to make sure she gets her share. Thank you I will try all your suggestions 😊

Morning all ! I went out this morning to let my 4 month old chickens out. I always get there fresh food and water ready before I open their coop. I kept hearing a howling noise , like a hurt animal. (I'm hard of hearing so I couldn't figure out where it was coming from) As I got to the coop door...
