    Not sure what to do

Here is a picture of her. She isn't new to our flock. We bought them in March of this year. We have 9 all together. The bleeding wasn't near her vent but on her back feathers. We don't know what to do for her???? Angel

    Not sure what to do

We are new to raising chickens so please bare with me. We have an EE that won't leave her nesting box. She isn't sitting on an egg so I don't think she is broody. When she goes out of the coop the other chickens peck her and won't let her eat or drink. She is losing feathers and is bleeding...

    The Egg Song

Is it normal for a hen to sing the "egg song" but yet to lay an egg? I have a RIR that does the song a few times a day for about a week now but no egg ????? I think my girls are trying to drive me crazy. :P Thanks, Angel

    My EE

How long do I let her sit there? She is such a sweet girl and I feel bad having to move her just to get her egg but she sat there for over 30 mins. Thank you for your respond, like I said this is so new to us and we are trying to learn a lot by posting and reading on BYC. :D

    My EE

Everytime our EE lays her egg (she has only laid 3) she sits on the egg and won't leave. I have to pick her up and take the egg. She gets upset but doesn't peck at me which I hope she won't start doing. What can I do if anything? Does this mean she is broody? This is our first time raising...

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

We have 4 out of 9 laying. Today was the first time we have got four eggs in one day.... :weee I think they are finally getting it. Now if the other 5 will start laying that would be nice. One of my EE (the only one out of two that are laying) will sit on her egg until I lift her up off of it...

    Our EE

Our first egg from our EE.... :D now we have 4 out of 9 laying. It took her over 2 hours to lay this tiny egg and then she wanted to sit on it and got mad at me for taking it :fl she cursed at me for 5 mins. I hope she doesn't always do this. She is my favorite. She is so loving and comes...

Finally both White leghorns are now laying.:D This morning I opened the nesting box and to my surprise there was one white egg (white leghorn) and a brown egg. Not sure who laid the brown one since we have a SLW who has been squatting for weeks and a few of my RIR have squatting too. Both of...

    Question about egg

Thanks for your post. I hope her eggs look normal soon and she finds the nesting boxes. It's so exciting to find an egg but not one that looked like that and not in the nesting box. They are still young around 17-18 weeks so maybe as the get a little older things will go better.
