hummm... that is hard to say...me my self i would not put her in a wire bottom cage... to dangerus .... she has got to have shavings for the bad foot but not to much she will still need some fermness to help her with foot... i have a broody one that i just got done braking... wire cage... had to...

I was reading a post the other day and in there it said that the other hens will kill the babie chicks.... is this true... and how long can a hen brood with out being heart or will they stay there for ever????

how true this is....it has been a good number of years sence i had chickens but the last ones i had was RIR hen and a roster..... a whit chicken ... don't remember what it was and a black and white chicken and a light brown one and don't remember what they were but i had white and brown eggs...
