I'm not an expert but the girls don't look like Black Sex Links to me. Female BSL tend to take on a more solid color and not so barred.

He sleeps in the corner to the left of the nesting boxes.

Everything looks fine with their feet. No mite issues but him sleeping on the floor just makes me nervous. As far as the flock, he keeps trying to jump on them, but it seems like he's just dominating, not actually mating them. I was considering just putting a small roost in his corner for him...

I have 10 pullets and 1 Black Sex Link Rooster (Ronnie). They are about 24 weeks old and Ronnie is not roosting with the girls at night. He sleeps in the corner of the coop. We thought maybe the roosting bar was too high for him so we made another one about 2ft off the floor and about 12 inches...

I actually work at an FFH and this actually happens more than you would think. I took home 2 BSL, one ended up male and one female. The Female has a few orange feathers on her neck but I had a customer come in that had a female BSL that had feathering closer to a Golden Laced Wyandotte...

She looks just like my Olive egger girl! I have 2 and they both make the most wild noises, way more than the rest.

Everyone I've shown said Barred Rock. I just joined this site though because I wasn't sure. Honestly I looked at the rest of his feathers and never questioned it. He has the barred pattern on his whole body.

At the farmstore I work at, HOWEVER. I did get it out of the black sex link tank and there is no way that is a BSL. 🙃

She's a 7 week old Barred Rock. I keep going back and forth. She has always been challenging and confident.
