    Six month old gender??

Oh, oops. I see you were referring to the new pics I attached. Yes, those are both definitely cockerels. Only two months old.

    Six month old gender??

The Silkie in the second pic is the dad of all and the other rooster came from this same hatch.

    Six month old gender??

Thanks everyone! You're confirming my suspicions! #3 developed her comb/wattles, got red in the face super early which definitely threw me off!

    Six month old gender??

I know, she does! I only hatched out my blue eggs though. I had some pretty neat color combos this time around.

    Six month old gender??

Here are some more pics of them as well as some others from several more hatches of the same breeding:

    Six month old gender??

Right, but I think because they are 1/2 silkie, they have untypical feathering which are not consistent with what we're used to. I have several roosters of this same breeding that actually do not really have saddle feathers at all and what they have are more round vs your typical pointy saddle...

    Six month old gender??

#1 These are Easter egger x silkie mixes that I hatched out six months ago. I’m still having trouble determining gender on a few of these. At one point I thought I knew what they were, and now I’m still not sure. They are not crowing or laying. Thoughts? #2 #3

    she has surfer hair!

Hi there, I have a chick born yesterday with whispy, scattered feathers on her head that stick up everywhere and thick, prickly scarce feathers on her back. My roosters are Cochin/silkie x or pure silkie and the hen that laid the egg, I think, is a silkie/ Cochin x. The chick has five toes, so...

    What should I do?!

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, I should have intervened. The "books" say not to, but I regret that. My internal pips never externally pipped and ended up dying. The eggs shells were SO hard. I could barely crack them myself. I found perfectly formed babies with yolk sacks completely...

    What should I do?!

At the end of day 21, I had an egg rocking for a couple hours. Day 22, it started peeping in the morning. Day 23 and it has been almost 24 hrs since the peeping started. Yesterday afternoon (12 hrs ago), there was some really loud peeping that lasted several hours, and now I am not hearing...

    Egg rocking, now nothing

Posting again.... At the end of day 21, I had an egg rocking for a couple hours. It is now day 22 and the egg has not pipped or rocked since yesterday. Is this normal? Thanks.

    Day 21- Peepless, pipless, anxious.

Trust me, I've been trying to distract myself. First time incubating and I've had chickens forever. I feel like a paranoid first-time mum all over again!

    Day 21- Peepless, pipless, anxious.

So, 7:30 EST this am makes 21 days that eggs have been in the incubator. I locked down on Sunday (18 days) and they were alive. I still do not have a peep or a pip. If no one has pipped, is it safe to open and candle the eggs? I lost power for a few hours on Sunday after lock down and I am...

Bantam mottled cochin x bantam mille fleur d'uccle

Thank you for the response! I have eggs in the incubator that are going on lock down tomorrow. I should have pips Tuesday or Wednesday. I also have 45 more eggs that I am going to set in a second bator. I am extremely excited to see what is hatched. I figured that most would look like the...
