honestly I just googled "how much square feet of chicken coop per chicken" or something like that and the first answer was 2-3sq. feet..... I have 16 in my 8x10 shed now and things do seem tight so I think ill be sticking to the lower number thanks!
Got my new 8x10 shed all set up last night and got my chickens moved over reluctantly but I think they finally adapted.
I still have to build a roost and was thinking of an interesting way to collect the chicken poop? I've seen images of putting a tarp under the chicken roost?
Also what can I...
So they say anywhere between 2-3sq. feet of coop per chicken??? well I bought a 8x10 shed/coop and by that math is 80sq. feet
2sqft/per chicken = 40 chickens
3sqft/per chicken = 26 chickens
26-40 chickens???!! This is similar to the cable man saying he will be at your house anywhere between 2pm...
So I built a nice 4 Tiered chicken roost out of 2x4s.... my "chicken coop" is an old gutted out camper.... my chickens have decided to start roosting in the cupboards instead.... like 10 of them packed into a small 2'x2' square cupboard... should I just let them be?? they look cramped lol
What are the legal laws if I were to sell eggs online for consumption not hatching purposes???
Also about how much in shipping would I have to pay to ship say 1 dozen eggs? would I have to ship with an ice pack???
Just an idea popped into my head and looking at different angles
although if that is my only rooster in the whole 25 batch.... I really shouldn't have to separate them should I? just collect the colored eggs for breeding?
awesome guys thanks for the info!!! as there getting older I believe one maaaaayyyyy be a rooster ... which the hatchery said "all females".... anywhoo..... say hypothetically, I have a rooster and 3 hens of EE's.... what are my options??? I have a 150' x 30' run with a 26' camper for a coop...
So are there different Americana breeds like golden laced or rocks??
Ordered the rainbow package from a Hatchery and got 3 different looking Americanas .. are they all just a random color or are there specific sub breeds??
Probably been asked a million times.. I got Cornish X about 3-3.5 weeks old. We live in North Dakota, going thru a cold spell... lows last couple days have been in the upper 20's but going to get warmer with lows in upper 30's ... I would like to kick them out permanently and the chicken coop is...
Got these I think Cornish x / fryer something or another from TSC today I forgot to take a pic of the sign...
Based on there starting to get some pin feathers id say there a week or two old already, but being as there a fryer breed maybe not??
Hmmm... well I got a treager grill the other day ... slow cooking them is no problem hahah I've been eyeing my chickens since I brought it home lol....
I was afraid of that... I'm in a catch 22... I love all my roosters... each one is unique to me.... but I don't have the room for more hens.... THE DILEMMA! !! :/ but I have my least favorite 2 roosters picked out... a black australorp (turkey cuz he's freaking tall!) And a barred rock...
