Thanks Bawk2theFuture for that info, that was very helpful and so sorry about the coop fire. We had awful coon dogs two doors down and they would come to our property and take our chickens. We lost my favorite chicken that way.
Hello, we saw this thread and wanted to post this,We let our chicks outside once it was warm we think somehow our chick,Benjie,Who is hated by the mother hen so we kept her with another olive egger and two ducks, got to the mother and her skin on her neck was ripped OFF. we even saw a tuff of her...
One of my chickens went broody and had chicks ,now one of those chicks is broody. Is it OK for her to have chicks?
It has been about 7 days and we are going to candle the eggs later. Do you have any idea whether this would be safe or we should not continue on?
I recently purchased two Mottled Java's hoping for one of each. Looking at their combs looks like I got two Cockerels. Although I have noticed that adult females have quite a large comb. When we got them Lucy was much bigger than Pepper but now it is opposite. They are both around 7 weeks here...
Any guesses on this one....y'all have me wondering with those rusty/red patches! And she seems pretty lanky as you say with legs that seem to big for her body. About 9 weeks here......
Thanks
Anyone have any guesses on this one, I am pretty certain she is a she but the browning in the chest is making me second guess my self. She is about 12 weeks here??
She has a tail, it just curves down and around her bottom. Sometimes it will stick out a little bit but nowhere near what any of my other birds look like. I have another one who looks like she doesn't really have a tail but this ones is actually really long. I tried to find any pictures online...
