Fowl pox will not get into other farm animals that are not of the avain class. It can get into other forms of birds that may be on the farm, though. You should NEVER vaccinate a bird already showing symptoms. Once the fowl pox has ran its course the bird will be immune (just like the human form)...

My laying hens have stopped laying since getting the fowl pox. Will they start laying again? if so how long does it take?

I have had an outbreak of fowl pox. We had around 200 chickens. With the heat and the pox we are down to around 100. My hens have all stopped laying. Will they eventually start laying again after the outbreak leaves? Or is the laying issue simply because of the heat? I haven't gotten more than a...
