We always keep a can of starting fluid on our equipment to light if you get in a nest. Still need to get out off their but gives you some defense and less likely to get stung.
I used the L-S 50 for six days and skipped a day before starting the vitamin-electrlyte forgot to give it to her at first is the only reason for skipping one day.

I know mine come apart and in the a.m. will see if there is anything special about them like an o-ring or something and will repost. Because mine do not leak.
Thank goodness I found this forum. I have a pullet that seemed to be dehydrated and week so I gave it some water with a syringe and it started to purk up. Then I turned on the hose softly and it started drinking and bathing. It seemed to come back to life. Two days go by and all is well eating...
