I really love my two cookies and cream. They are about 15 weeks now and they are very calm when I pick them up and really seem to be bonded with each other. They will cry if can’t see one an other even for one minute. One’s crest got very large and she couldn’t see well so I picked her up and...
Today 4/18/2024 the above is my milk and cookies born jan. 2024. Sold to me as two female but I'm concerned the one on the right might be a roo. What do you think??? Can't keep roos where I live and they seem to be bonded already. I really like them.
They seem to only want green veggies or mealy worms. I've been giving the usual amount (an afternoon treat only) hoping they will eat their regular layer feed. Confirming they are not sick at all, all healthy running around with no worries about fresh water, stools normal etc.......I think...
Good Idea: Yesterday I added peas and for some reason the curiosity got 4 of 6 of them to eat some. I'm sure some chicken or tuna would be an even better idea. Thanks !
They are lovely girls ! In that pic about 9 months old. They generally weigh about 4 1/2 pounds until i gave them too much corn this winter, lol ..... last weight was 5 pounds but only weighed one because I just wanted to see if the corn made them heavier. I usually have them on corn free...
I did try that for a couple of days but they kept attacking me for food when I came in the run, my hands, my clothes were pecked at looking for food. They are calling at the door loud, so I finally gave the little bit of usual things they eat, a bit of meal worms and leafy veggies (I don't give...
Yes they have been eating green veggies, ie. lettus spinach, kale, ...... Just not their layer feed. Tried many different brands and textures. Eating some if i ferment but not all of it like they used too (they leave half) This is so weird.
Talking about commercial layer feed. Not moldy, I keep buying new ones to try, all different brands and textures, crumbles, pelleted, mash. Yes they are eating a bit more if I ferment it but they always ate it both ways. I do think its so weird.
This is the strangest thing, my chickens are hungry but wont eat grains ! They've always like a specific brand but no won't eat it, so I tried (now 5) different brands, from crumbles to pellets to mash and no one will eat. Yet they act starving so I give them their usual amount of mealy worms...
