I had him in his lower part of the shell until the yolk was absorbed. He/she kicked it off this morning. It now has a friend in an egg still... mom pulled more shell off and I wasn't going to take the chance... So @Miss Lydia @Luv Ducks , I have a question. I've never had this situation...

Well all this is where we have made it!!! Wow he/shw pushed out today but seems still attached to the egg as suspected... I assume not done absorbing yet? Peeping.. and moving around a bit. Any advice.. looks frustrating that they can't get out of the shell. But I am assuming it's needed....

Yes yawning and chewing... just hoping since mom removed half the shell it Dilantin pop too early... if ao will it stay attached to the yolk sac until it's ready?

No amd I have done nothing but put coconut oil on the exposed membrane and placed it on the straw.... the water was for something else. But gave me the idea if humidity in the house

When I've assisted before I've had to give a drop of water at the end of the beak. But that's after they've been stuck over 24 hours inside the shell.. sorry it didnt attach... here it is

Thank-you yes. Being very careful. When I bring it inside this evening we will be using a lamp. It is a small heat lamp with a 75 watt bulb. I will not have it directly on the little one but close. Our house is pretty chilly we keep it at 69... so , i Know it will be needed. Seeing as out...

Update: the little one didn't make it. We had it In The box under light. I used coconut oil to keep the outer membranes from drying out. Had in laying in straw. And we noticed Its breathing was slowing.. and we had to keep nudginIt r to br e ath. Eventually. It just stopped ☹️ I'm sad to say...

I don't see a presence except when I was in there and I looked thru the nest to make sure there was nothing awry elsewhere. What is this stuff you are speaking of and where do I Get it.? It wouldn't be bad to have on hand or is there something else I can use?.

Yes I have found the last 2 of 3 when it was too late. The other one from today , had much of its shell missing and only membrane left and was unfortunately full of ants. One prior, she squished. She is an Ancona, Smaller for her breed.. but still Ancona. It has open and closed its mouth...
