wild turkey chicks imprint on tiny bantam hen

A tiny sebright hen hatched one chick yesterday. Today she has one tiny chick and four wild turkey chicks about half grown. They seem to have lost their mother and wandered into the yard and attached to the chicken mama. She seems to be happy with them and is welcoming no problem. This is quite...

    bantam roo, broken back

Thank you for the replies. I am sure it is an injury I can feel the dislocation of the spine. I decided to have him euthanized. Didn't trust myself with anything else and didn't want to make him hurt worse.

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Anyone have any ideas what I can do with six younger roosters. Good size to eat but nobody will butcher chicks around me. I'm near Battle Creek. If anyone knows a place. Or wants them to eat.

First layer decided to go broody on me

Broodys also tend to puff up and sometimes make a growl type noise if you try to move them off their nest

Thank you stacykins! I have two EE hens, one lays blue, other white. I was just curious as to what to properly call them. Can they be any color? Kinda like a calico cat can produce any color. Does that make sense lol? I'm curious because some are turning white. I have also considered the whites...

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

So I recently had some chicks hatch. They are EE roo over BR, NH, BSL, BA. So are the chicks EE because an EE is a mix anyway or are they EE crosses? Or does it just depend on egg color?

    sebright thread

Hello! I have 7, 9 day old golden chicks I hatched from a trio I own. Also have four silvers. I just love my sebrights. Glad I found this!

EE's not laying, they are seven months old and never laid an egg.

In my experience my two EEs just don't lay as well as my other chicks. I have one that lays about every other day and one that lays about twice a week. This has always been their routine for almost two years now. Maybe its just mine though.

    Late Introduction!

Welcome! Beautiful homestead. In Michigan here but dream of moving south someday. Do you get lots of snow in the mountains?
