I was thinking of doing the same, however since they will still crow, I found another option. We are not allowed to have Roosters in Huber Heights, OH I have a Americana maybe Road Island Red cross rooster about 6 months. He is very nice with the hens and easy to handle.

Hi, I'm in Dayton, OH South West Ohio We have a dog rescue but were called about a "stray" chicken. Since I've had chickens before, we took her in and now have 7 peeps too. 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Isa Browns, 2 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Black Australorp. We think our rescue girl is a White Leghorn.
