I've seen olive oil prescribed for impacted crops, so that should work just fine.
I wouldn't worry too much about her unless she starts acting unwell.
Good luck!
There are natural oils that will kind of lubricate their digestive system like they do ours, I'll try to get a list together. How flexible is the tubing?
Hopefully everything will be okay.
Chickens were fed scraps for years in older times without people really knowing what was poisonous or not. I would think the worst that could happen may be an upset stomach.
Her feet look normal to me.
Is it cold where you live right now? The pinkness may be from that.
If you're really worried you could clean her feet super well and post another picture. Things may be clearer when they're super clean :p
It sounds like she may have some kind of injury to her leg, or in the best case scenario, her balance is just affected now that she doesn't have full use of that wing. Does her leg have any swelling or redness?
You're doing the right thing wrapping it, just keep her inside and comfortable.
Some "poisonous" foods will just give the chickens an upset stomach or are not the best, not many will actually kill them if they're fed it once.
If you don't know what they were fed, just keep an eye on them for any signs of illness. Sitting down and acting sleepy, strange poops, etc.
Pasty butt could just be a sign of another illness. It may be a symptom or a result, and not the cause. Weak chicks do tend to get it easier.
Do you have electrolytes in their water, and is the chick separated from the others?
It did seem to help my hens with large combs. It acts like a moisturizer to them just like it does to us
My rooster has a rose comb so he was a little better off, but I went ahead and did him as well and there was definitely nothing negative that happened.
Sounds good!
My battle with mites is kind of ongoing, the wild birds here must be spreading them over and over.
But it's okay, I've never had a severe infestation. They dust bathe regularly and that helps them a ton.
When my pullet was attacked by a dog, I kept her in the garage with supplementary heat. She had a large, somewhat deep, wound on her thigh with skin completely gone. We used a rinse medicine. I wasn't allowing her to dust bathe, which evidently was driving her crazy.
One day as I carried her to...
I'm assuming when you wrapped her vent, you're leaving it open enough to expel anything she needs to.
Hopefully her body will instinctually put its energy towards healing instead of producing eggs. Mine was attacked last year on her thigh, stomach, and back, and she didn't lay again until she...
You don't need heaters under 40, I wouldn't think. Your chickens are used to warmer weather, being in Florida, but chickens survive just fine under 40 degrees without supplementary heat. What makes you think the frogs may have been poisonous, have you been able to identify what type they are?
