Ulcerative enteritis (Clostridium colinum) "quail disease"?

So which do you then recomend from the preventative: "Infection-free birds, all-in/all-out production, low level antibiotics as per treatment, possibly probiotics." I bought in some eggs (the ones that hatched this weekend) to out cross into my exisiting birds so the all-in/all-out would be...

Ulcerative enteritis (Clostridium colinum) "quail disease"?

In my quest to learn more and be prepared to be a better keeper of my still young and growing quail flock I read the "Common Gamebird Diseases" flier from Texas A&M (linked below). It mentions Ulcerative enteritis, (Clostridium colinum) "quail disease", as one of the most common for quail, and...

    Preventing coccidiosis in Cots?

I did, and have treated what remains of the flock. I am now looking for advanced treatment, like the flu shot or other immunization for the up and coming birds.

    Preventing coccidiosis in Cots?

Having just lost ~85% of a hatch as they reached the 5 week mark to a suspected coccidiosis outbreak, what can I do to help protect/prevent it again in the future? I have read that apple cider vinegar can help, but I am not sure how I feel about dosing with that every day (I don't even like...

    Die off at 4-5 weeks?

Thanks. Is there a recommended sanitation protocol? I was thinking I would put all the birds in temporary housing (cardboard box, etc.) while I got out the propane torch and scorched the entire cage...

    Die off at 4-5 weeks?

Having now looked up coccidiosis the symptoms seem to match. Drooping wings, general malaise head/beak resting on the ground, runny stool. I went to TS and picked up Corid on my lunch break, hopefully that helps! Assuming it is coccidiois then once treated are the birds more tolerant of it...

    Die off at 4-5 weeks?

As a follow up question to why this is happening (really want to know with anothr ~30 new hatchlings in the brooder). Is there something I can do/put in their water to help them bounceback? A vitamin or supplement or something. Thanks

    Die off at 4-5 weeks?

I hatched out 28 coturnix, reared them in the brooder for weeks. Slowly raised the heat lamp, lowering the temperature over several weeks. Moved them into a permanent cage, inside the garage for a few days first with no heat lamp, then moved them outside right next to my adult breeding flock...

Laying eggs on the floor, need ideas

I went with the deep litter method this winter and it seemed to work good although a few of my hens decided half way through to start laying eggs on the nice deep litter as apposed to the boxes. I have since removed the deep little for the spring cleanout, but they continue to lay in the same...
