Wow, I didn't realize this thread took off so long. When I started this, I had one damaged egg. Unfortunately my make shift incubator light shifted in the night an got too hot. That chick didn't make it.later the other hens trampled the nest again I ended up with 2 chicks hatching in the nest...

I have a beautiful Barred Rock Roo. He is 4 months old and has just found his voice. Unfortunately I live in city limits and can not keep him. I need to find a home for him soon. If anyone in my area in interested please let me know. I live in the Oregon City/Milwaukie, Oregon area.

I recently had a chicken die mysteriously. No reason I could see. She seemed quiet one day then was dead the next. When I had a necropsy done, to try and protect the remaining 2, it turned out to be gout. Never thought of that. Apparently they were getting too much protein and/or not enough...
