The black one looks a little like our Hans. He also has a “head bun”. His dad is a bcm/silkie mix and his mum a black cochin bantam.

9 weeks! Still no wattles 😅 maybe because of the silkie part? As cochin bantams and bcm normally should have wattles by now right?

Yeah I know… that’s why this is the last week and then he will stay the nights in the coop too (he is there during the day now).

How he sleeps on the couch with our daughter 🥰 In a week he is moving permanently with the adult hens (he still sleeps at home with us in a big dog crate) as he is now big enough… and I’m going to miss this so much 🙈

Today he sang the “egg” song 🐥 do roosters sing the egg song too? It was exactly what the other hens sing when they lay. For context, a cat got too close to the hens and the dog barked at it. The other hens were unfazed as they are used to the dog scaring away the strays that come too close...

We got dna results today, we got a Hans 💕. Dad is a black copper marans/ silkie hybrid, mom is a black pekin (cochin) bantam.

It loves high places, and to sleep on my head while we watch tv 🤣 can’t wait to know if it’s a hen or roo 😅💕
