i have a bantam chick about a month old who doesn't appear to have any comb at all...not even a red spot...anyone know what kind of chick that is? he's grey and black right now....but i know his coloring could change.
it seems odd to me that the one being dominated is the one that insists on starting the fights. The one who always wins doesnt really have that much interest in fighting, but the other one insists on displaying and challenging him and so he will reapproach the fight and eventually pin the other...
One change to my situation...i did some more research and I believe that I have two toms which may explain the seriousness of the fighting. The problem I have with it, is that they are more tor less pets, rather than breeding stock, so I'm not really comfortable with letting them tear each other...
Our turkeys are doing the exact same thing....though neither has been sick. The female keeps provoking the male into fighting and now he's all ticked off at her too. If anyone knows what to...we would also like to know.
yes thats kinda how my chickens are...there are a couple that will still jump up in your lap when you sit out in the yard but not as much as they did when they were younger. the little silverwing is one of my favorites...she just has a sweet disposition all the time. Fortunately, my birds don't...
yes, she's a gorgeous little bird and pretty friendly, the dog chased her to me the other day so I grabbed her and put her up on my lap and she sat there for several minutes exploring my lap and talking to me with these odd little noises I never heard a chicken make before.
i checked out the phoenix and she doesn't appear to be a phoenix but I;ll check out the duckwing too...we did get her from a store that said she was a bantam along with several others.
yes I think I have another picture or two...i'll check. I believe she's an actual chicken because she does have basic chicken charachteristic...except for her tiny size..haha.. shes about 4 months old.
