Hi Ma Kettle, I found the same ugly little things you described in my chickens poop also. I just finished round #2 of the liquid fenbendazole mixed in their water s few days ago, and am still seeing some worms. Maybe it's just not effective given in water. I'll have to try mixing with feed next...

Thank you. Have done a little research on the fenbendazole, but not sure how to use it. Hopefully I can put it in their water, any suggestions?

Pretty sure it's tapeworms, having seen some before in the puupy poo. How do you administer the fenbendazole? It looks like it may only come in paste or pellets, and I'm hoping to put in their waterer. And thanks for responding to my post! This is so gross!

Does Ivermectin/Piperazine (sp?) treat the short little white worms I see 'peppered' on some of the chicken droppings? I assume these are a type of tape worm. I can see them moving, and this is freaking me out! I want them gone! I also have dogs and cats and wonder if the dogs injest the feces...

Sounds like a success. Wish I had some chicks to put under mine, but think I'll go ahead and give her a few eggs to try hatching since she's so determined. Eggs are pretty prescious right now for me, and would hate to have them ruined, but it would be nice to see her doing something useful as...

She's been broody for about 3 weeks, can't seem to stop her. Am thinking about just giving in and giving her a few eggs to hatch, but is it too late? Is she likely to stop being broody halfway to hatch time?

Hi All, I'm in the Labanon/SweetHome area. Have had chickens for about 1 year now. My layers have slowed down quite a bit in the last 2 weeks...anyone else's doing that? Also looking for some silkies...any leads? Love this site, lots of good info. and ideas!

Thanks for your reply...I'll try to be patient. Do you know if it takes silkies longer to adjust, since other chickens I've gotten (standard) didn't take so long? Also what is the best way to check for age (for an amateur) ?
