    Is this normal?

We have a hen who currently has two five week old chicks and now she is trying to hatch more eggs! She still takes care of her two chicks, takes the bug hunting ect.

    Rhode Island Reds

They look like the pictures of the eight week olds. So they must be around that age. The good thing is they all look like pullets because you always take a chance with younger chickens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Rhode Island Reds

We bought 16 RIR pullets. The person we bought them from thought they were about 8 weeks old but they are fully feathered and are pretty good sized. Does anyone have a picture of some that are around eight weeks old.

    Nice suprise

Thanks. I'm hoping all my females return safely too. All are crested ducks so hopefully I'll get more crested babies. The first group is already spoken for, so hopefully I will find good homes for any more surprises.

    Nice suprise

All of our female ducks disappered about a month ago. We were kinda worried but since none of the males disappeared so I suspected they were nesting. Well one showed up yesterday bringing gifts Now only four more females missing. We'll be giving baby ducks away soon.

    OEG batams

Can anyone describe what their eggs look like? We found some small white eggs, I know are not from my d'Uccle hens. Everyone thinks thet are to big to come out of those little chickens. They are a off white and are smaller then the d'Uccle eggs.

    Is it too early?

I live in Iowa and my goose has layed two eggs and one of my turkeys has layed an egg. It is way to cold to hatch babies now. Will they still lay at the proper time? This is the first year they are old enough to lay, they were babies last year.

    Best Broody Hens?

I have a d'uccle hen that is constantly broody. She hatched out two groups of chicks and is trying to hatch a third but I've switched eggs on her and they are fake. I don't have a good place for chicks in the winter. I also have two muscovey ducks that are constantly sitting on eggs. I didn't...
