We moved our coop into an empty barn stall today. Realized after our first big snow that having it in the main yard wasn’t going to work, what with snow falling off all the eaves and trees. Also, they will be protected from the wind in there.
We just set up our brooder in an unused bathtub (long story short, it's a tiny bathtub - only 4 1/2 ft long - and we don't use it). I've got a heat lamp for our chicks, but do they need a light ource during the day too, or is the heat lamp enought light?
We (my husband and I) are brand-new to chickens. We want to get four - probably 2 ISA Browns and 2 Barred Rocks, but ideally 4 Buff Orpingtons. Just depends on what comes to our Tractor Supply.
