I'm so sorry about Kua. We had our beloved Reba put to sleep after her diagnosis. We have lost two of our pet chickens to what the vet said was reproductive cancer, and a third was recently diagnosed. Two were Cherry Eggers and the other was a California White. Our hens are about 3 years...

Some of our chickens have very long toenails that curve. Can they be safely trimmed? How do you know how much to cut off?

Is it something that can be fixed?

Thanks for trying to help. She is about one year old. We took this photo with our cell phone. She has white spots on both eyes but the left one is worse. The spot you see is not a reflection. She acts normal other than being disoriented and clumsy, making us think she doesn't see properly...

Our California White chicken has developed white spots on her eyes. Does anyone know what that indicates? We think she isn't seeing as well as the other chickens. She runs into things and seems disoriented at times.

Thanks for the suggestions. Her legs are dark because she is an Auracana. We couldn't see any anomaly on her foot. Her limp is less pronounced today so we hope she is mending whatever happened. I like your idea of putting her inside a cage to rest her leg.

Our pet Auracana started limping a few days ago. She seemed better and then started limping again. We don't see anything wrong with the foot. We soaked it with hydrogen peroxide but it didn't seem to help. She is eating and drinking and seems to feel O.K. Any suggestions?

I'm sorry. I am new to this and I didn't see your post about what happened to your hen. We aren't sure if that's what was wrong but we had her put down today.

Hello, We lost our pet hen today. Her symptoms were like you hen. Did you find out a cause?

My favorite California White hen is acting strangely. She is lethargic, isn't eating normally, and her poop is mostly water. Her comb lays over and she puffs out her feathers like she is cold. Any suggestions?
