Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

About a year or so ago someone stole all of my chickens except for 3 special needs birds I had in a separate run and coop. Pepper Ann was one of my special needs girls, but she's fine now and became very broody. So I let her sit on some plastic ducks until I could find her some children. She's...

Polish hen scratching herself to death- need help ASAP!

That is sweet and I'm glad she had a friend! My boy also goes through periods of letting himself heal and I think it's over finally, then he does it again, so they seem to have that in common. Like you, I think we've tried everything. With us, it's been going on since November. So sorry about...

Polish hen scratching herself to death- need help ASAP!

How is she doing? I have an itchy boy who has been tearing up his own face. I found a post on here about a dog shampoo called Sebozole with Miconazole Nitrate 2% and Chloroxylenol 1% and it has helped. He had two baths with the shampoo and then a drop of ivermectin on his neck two days ago and...

Chronic illness responds to ivermectin and nothing else - help with treatment plan?

My boy seemed to get some relief from a pet shampoo called Sebozole. It contains Miconazole Nitrate 2% and Chloroxylenol 1%. He had two spa days with that, then Ivermectin a couple days later and he started crowing again. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

De-Pluming Mites VERY effective Treatment I stumbled across!!!

Thank you! I'm so glad I found your post. I ordered the shampoo and after I bathed my rooster the tub had thousands of dead mites in it! It was unbelievable how many there were because I had never seen a mite on him since they were burrowed, but he was crusty and itchy and losing feathers. He is...

    When do roosters mature?

I've always followed the ratio of 1 rooster per 10 hens. Otherwise, there can be fighting over the girls and the girls get worn out and stressed.

    Chicken with Swollen Eye

Did you get her eye well? I had been dealing with this since November and just found a post recommending cipro eye drops and that finally made a difference. Here's the post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/finally-swollen-eye-sinus-lump-swelling-cure-treatment.1156995/

    Swollen eye NO bubbles

My rooster had a mycoplasma infection with swelling and mucus, but never any bubbles or foaming in the eye as I've seen with others. Cipro eye drops are clearing it up finally. I'm also using terramycin eye ointment, which helps the itching.
