    Non-spill duckling waterer

Lori, I can't tell exactly from the picture...did you just cut small-ish holes in the top so they could fit their beak/head in it? Thanks!

They will be babies. I was hoping to let them all sleep together, but let them out in the day. Do you feed them all the same, or will they stay away from each other's food? Thanks for your help.

    Muscovy Chat

Thank you! I currently have eight hens and I would like to house my ducks with my hens. I've seen where people do that, so I'm assuming that's okay. :) How do you introduce the ducks to the chickens? On the water they need to "swim" in, where I live it will freeze unless I heat it some way...

    Muscovy Chat

I'm looking at getting some Muscovy ducks. I'm not sure if this is the right spot on the forum to ask questions? If it is, I'll ask away. If not, could you point me to the right thread? Thank you! Robin

    Respiratory infection?

Thanks, Ron. Their coop is very well ventilated, so I don't think that would be a problem. I'm hoping to see some improvement with the antibiotics! I'll do some research on the mold issue. Another question I have that I haven't really found an answer to on Google is whether my dogs or us...

    Respiratory infection?

I have 3 silkies 11 weeks old, 3 silkies 8 weeks old and 3 red sex links 6 weeks old. It all started with one chick having a closed eye. Well, it's now progressed. All the chicks are sick to varying degrees and symptoms. The symptoms are: having a hard time getting breath, looks like they...

Chicks - one eye closed, one eye open

Thank you. I am on my way to pick it up. Will it hurt the other chicks that aren't sick if they happen to drink it?

Chicks - one eye closed, one eye open

Hello. This all started yesterday morning with my 6-week-old red sex link. She seemed tired and sleeping for the morning, would wake up if startled, but would get up and walk around, eat, drink, but would keep her left eye shut for the most part. She could open it, and would, but she seemed...

When to change to layer feed

Thank you all for your help! I went and picked some up today. I'm sure my girls will be very happy when I feed them in the morning! Robin

When to change to layer feed

I have five hens. One is one week older than the rest and started laying last week! (she's a leghorn) My other four turned 20 weeks old on Sept 2, and my golden sex link layed her first egg yesterday! My question is, when do I change to layer feed? Also, at my local IFA, it seems to me that...

Is Lucy a hen or a rooster?

Dang! That's what I thought though. Thanks for all the help! Now, what to do with him???? Robin

Is Lucy a hen or a rooster?

So it seems that I have the same question as Lunachick. "Lucy" is a white laced red cornish. She is 10 weeks old. For the past couple of days - mostly in the morning after we let them out - she has been crowing. She does stretch her neck when she does her crowing. She has been the most...

How Much layer?? How much Scratch??

Now after reading this great thread, I have some questions! I have six hens that are 7 to 8 weeks old. I started them on a 16% pullet developer from my local feed store at about 6 weeks old. What I'm doing that I'm now questioning is that every day I've been giving them about a half of an ear...
