lol very true. The only thing we have right now that i am not keeping hold of is the barred rocks. Even with them I will probably keep about 20 br roos destined for freezer camp

Dang... Sounds like my luck. Finally got my truck back from the shop after over a month.. between trying to get all new fencing up here and get the sheep moved out to the front grass so they can eat, and finally getting back to work, I havent had time to even think straight lately. off to a job...

For sure :) my turkeys have laid a whole 2 eggs in the last 3 days... I do have geese sitting on eggs right now, but the plan was to sell what I incubated and let the geese raise a couple dozen babies and expand the flock for next year. Really needed the income from them tho... were about out...

Argh. ... my temp controller crapped out today. Ive got the backup unit on the bator now.. but the temp had soared to over 140... guessing all the goose eggs are cooked :/ blah. Cant win for losin

Well yall... after yet another trying few weeks, we have moved to a more permanent spot :) we are now on a nice little 5 acre tract all our own. Means alot more work ahead. Fencing starting from square one.. We have a guy coming out monday to trench for power and water to the barn and coop...

Been a crazy couple days. Got the bator packed packed right now. Managed to pick up 6 dozen light Brahma eggs yesterday. So far ive pulled 9 goose eggs. All clears. All the rest have looked good. Going to carry the hodge podge mix of ducks I have left up to the sale tomorrow and start anew.

Ok got them candled tonight. Pulled 5 chicken. All blood rings. 6 ancona. 2 blood rings 4 no goes. 2 slate no goes.3 slate palms no goes.

All duck eggs lol. The 2 good ones were the only 2 chicken eggs

Not yet. Tomorrow will be day 7 ill candle the first time then. Did candle all of my eggs tho... not good. 2 of 16 out of 3 diff sets :/
